Abstract

This paper investigates the application of the general measure word  in international Chinese language education, analyzing the usage status and its influence among native speakers, learners, and international Chinese language educators. The results show that native Chinese speakers often exhibit a generalization phenomenon with the measure word which may mislead learners, causing them to overly rely on when they have not yet mastered the rules of other measure words. To address this issue, the paper proposes three improvement strategies: first, native speakers should enhance their awareness of language norms to avoid the arbitrary use of ; second, learners should increase their sensitivity to measure words, avoiding blind imitation and focusing on selective input; third, international Chinese language educators should design interactive measure word practice activities to help learners distinguish  from other measure words, gradually improving accuracy. The paper suggests that through standardized language input and carefully designed teaching activities, an effective measure word teaching model can be developed to help learners overcome confusion and improve their Chinese expression and pragmatic skills.
